Director of Professional Fitness Training and Coaching

I am the team leader for the Sports Mall’s professional fitness trainers and coaches. My goal is to inspire freedom through movement and a lifelong journey of health and fitness. Through empathetic leadership and personal example, I create hope, remove barriers, and provide solutions for a life of continuous movement. I provide compassionate, supportive, and credible evidence-based solutions through the pursuit of ongoing higher education and lead with integrity and honesty. I believe in upholding the highest industry standards and cultivating the respect of those served, allied professionals, and peers.

My journey in fitness started as a young competitive swimmer and avid skier, but my fitness connection was defined by the death of my father at age 15.  I struggled, lost in almost every sense of the word. I wasn’t coping; I retreated inside myself, desperately trying to shield myself from the world or, more realistically, the pain I was feeling. Through sport, and specifically running, I found peace, a space to grieve, escape, and eventually start to heal. I learned that movement could create a space for me to exist without distraction and a place to breathe.

As a coach, professional trainer, and athlete, teaching movement and sport as a pathway to experience fitness in a way that inspires extraordinary moments reinforces the reasons I love what I do. I hope that my athletes and clients achieve their goals and, more importantly, cherish their experiences and embrace a new continued health and fitness journey.

Fitness provides unique opportunities to cope with and manage life’s stresses and challenges. I offer this for those with challenging conditions; there are many paths to fitness, and what appears as an obstacle represents an opportunity to explore a different path; let me help you find your path.
